#UltimateFoodRoadTrip – Chicago Style Pizza, Hamilton, Ontario

The Greater Toronto Area is one of the most populated areas in North America and the variety of restaurants and food choices are endless,. But one thing that is almost impossible to find around the Golden Horseshoe is Chicago style deep dish pizza. That search ends today at Chicago Style Pizza in Hamilton, Ontario, which is the next stop on the #UltimateFoodRoadTrip.

Once a hidden gem in the city, an appearance on the popular Food Network show “You Gotta Eat Here” certainly changed that. They offer many Italian specialties like lasagna and veal parmigiana, as well as regular crust pizzas, to go with their specialty stuffed pizza.

If you are going to venture to Chicago Style Pizza there is one thing that sets this place apart from all others, the stuffed pizza. It features a flaky crust spread into a deep dish pan and layered with cheese, sauce and your choice of toppings, before being covered by another thin layer of crust and an additional ladle of tomato sauce. The stuffed pizza is truly unique and as close to “Chicago Style” as you are going to get outside of the Windy City.

You might be thrown off by the prices, but the stuffed pizzas are filling! A small pizza will fill satisfy two hungry individuals with healthy appetites and it is probably equivalent to a large regular crust pizza. When you put that into perspective they are actually a pretty good value..

If you are ever in Hamilton, you have to make a stop at Chicago Style Pizza and try the stuffed pizza. Trust me, you will not regret it!
