The Fenway Park lobster roll recipe is the next delectable food item that I’ll try to recreate in my ballpark food recipe series. The lobster roll is quickly gaining steam as a popular food item at Red Sox games, catching up in popularity to the legendary Fenway Frank.
Fenway Park Lobster Roll Recipe - What you need:
makes approximately 2 lobster rolls
-1.25 lb lobster
-2 hot dog rolls with cut sides
-2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
-1 celery stalk, chopped
-2 Tbsp. chopped green onion
-salt and pepper to taste
-1 Tbsp. butter
1. Cook the lobster how you prefer. You can boil it yourself or you can have the person at your fish counter steam it for you. What ever you like. Once it is cooked, remove all of the meat from the shell and roughly chop into chunks.
2. Add the green onion, celery, and mayonnaise to a bowl and combine with the chunks of lobster. Add salt and pepper to taste.
NOTE: When I made this I used 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. As you can tell from the picture, it was a little too much. I’ve cut the amount of mayonnaise in half for this recipe.
3. Heat the butter in a frying pan and lightly toast the outside of the hot dog buns until they are golden brown. Do not skip this step. The buttery flavor you get from the bun works so well with the lobster.
4. Fill each hot dog bun with half of the lobster mixture. It should be overflowing from the bun!
I don’t know what says New England more than lobster and this lobster roll recipe is the perfect way to bring Fenway Park to your home.
