I happened to be watching MasterChef season four on Fox tonight and I heard one of the top contenders on the show, Jessie Lysiak, mention that her father was a former pro athlete. I did not recognize the name so I did some digging online. It turns out that her father is former NHL player, Tom Lysiak.
Tom Lysiak played just over 900 games in the NHL with the Atlanta Flames and Chicago Blackhawks and he produced nearly a point per game. However, he may be known more for receiving one of the longest suspensions in league history for tripping a linesman in 1983.
Jessie was the winning team captain for the team challenge on tonight’s episode.
